Our Lady of Fátima appeared to three shepherd children in Fátima, Portugal in May 1917. Lúcia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto saw the Blessed Virgin Mary holding a rosary and dressed in bright white with fringes of gold. The apparitions continued until October that year with messages of prayer, contrition and atonement.
