Family Center

The Family Center -- Asian Social Institute (FCASI) was founded in February 1965 by the late Fr. Francis Senden,cicm.  Its establishment was a response to an observation that the Filipino family and/or kinship system exercises a dominant influence in all institutional spheres in the Philippines.

Philosophy:

The Family Center shall respond to the challenge of serving the family's interest by working with deep concern for the common welfare of society

Goal:    Empowerment of Communities

  • To facilitate and animate people's initiatives towards structural changes in partnership with organized groups/sectors;

  • To animate the formation of leaders from among the grassroots through a holistic, integral and process-oriented formation program;

  • To promote the strengthening and enhancement of family life in the spirit of Christian values and principles;

  • To promote gender perspectives in all change processes (policy management and operation);

  • To promote people-centered sustainable development programs.

  • To establish effective and efficient mechanisms for continuity of people's initiatives/projects;

  • To link people's organizations/movements with national and international development agencies.
