ASI is a movement of transformative insights, of inquiry (research), of action and advocacy towards Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

The 2009 Asian Social Institute Mission Campaign

With the advent of the global financial crisis, where even the established and financially stable institutions experienced downturns in their financial conditions and even worse have closed shop and ceased operation, ASI, for its part, is not immune to the negative effects of this global phenomenon. Funding partners who have been consistently funding programs and services have started to limit some of the programs they usually support. Investments have started to decrease because of the highly volatile financial market. With these conditions ASI decided to launch a campaign while preparing for its 50th (Golden) Jubilee celebration.

ASI is a school with a difference, thus, its fundraising is also with a difference. The ASI’s accompaniment of movements of marginalized entails cost in seeing to it that decent salaries are paid to highly competent professional staff and highly qualified professors. This will not come from our funding partners:

The educational fund is to absorb the necessary expenses for ASI to continue its mission. We call on people to be in solidarity with ASI for the many programs it undertakes for the healing of society, for making people and community experience well-being by expanding its network of friends among different institutions on the national, Asian and global levels.

If you feel like sharing ASI’s concern, we gladly invite and welcome you to join in ASI’s efforts, even in little ways, of healing the divides in society, by making the poor a part of us.

ASI's Relief-Rehabilitation Work

A number of provinces in Luzon, including Metro Manila were submerged in flood waters for days due to the onslaught of typhoons that came one after the other in the months of September and October. A significant number of people were drowned. Thousands of families were left homeless. Infrastructures and crops were destroyed. However, amidst the bleak panorama of despair, some individuals and institutions (both foreign and local) lost no time in extending their support to those who were affected by the calamity. The Asian Social Institute (ASI) is among those who were entrusted and mobilized to distribute their donations (in kind and in cash) in the communities of Angono, Binangonan and Cardona, Rizal.
